Rebecca and I knew each other since we have both been represented by the Paulina Miller Gallery in downtown. However, her and I have very different styles and approaches to our art. She paints surreal images with vibrant colors on canvas and I cast concrete assemblages using found materials and a muted color palette. So, now that we were paired together for this exhibit, we reconnected. While discussing our art one day over coffee, it became clear that we both had a common thread within our work. Rebecca and I discovered that we both explore ideas relating to the micro [fleeting moments] & macro [tidal movements] elements as they relate to human behavior & adaptation. When we dug a little deeper into the significance in our work, we put it all together and came up with the exhibition title of Ephemeral Moments & Systemic Tides. You can see and read more about Rebecca’s art work on her website, but I have to tell you that you will be blown away at the amount of detail that goes into her paintings. Photos just don’t do her painting justice!

We’d love to see you at our reception on May 6th. It’s free and open to the public, so please stop by if you are in the area.

UPDATE: Rebecca & I have decided to donate 25% of all our art sales of this exhibit to the Icehouse. Read more about Hugo Media’s Fundraiser to save the Icehouse & why it needs saving. Please help us spread the word!
