Damn it! So I did a lot of oil painting in art school and the subsequent years there after. I mean a LOT of painting. So much so that I think I literally burned myself out on imagery and content. Perhaps some of it just being the natural progression of an artist, but I didn’t feel like painting anymore. I wanted to explore other mediums in order to “say what I needed to express”. Somewhere around 2002 I began to move from oil painting into mixed media resin casting and in 2007 I quickly abandoned resin casting for the next romance ~ concrete.
Lately I’ve been dreaming [no, literally dreaming in my sleep] about painting. The ideas are filling my eyes and has to be let out soon. But this next step won’t be heading back to canvas…I think some medium worlds are about to collide. This is where artists get their ‘high’….well, either from this or the fumes.
