My solo exhibition BLACKBOX opens Friday, May 12th from 7-10P in the North Gallery at Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. I am honored and grateful to have been selected by the museum for this exhibition. This body of work fuses elements of the biological and the technological to explore the unease, intrigue and fragility between humanness, technology and ecology. Many mediums including ceramics, concrete soils, metals, moss, lighting, fabric, mirrors, audio and video come together to blur boundaries between sculpture and installation.
- A special thank you to Phoenix-based artist Bryn Corbett (a.k.a. Particle Dots) who composed and produced the sound track for the Black Box installation titled “Last Signals” and also assisted with video formatting. Visit Bryn’s sound portfolio website here.
- Other exhibit openings at MCAM this same night: Flourish: A Survey of the New Contemporary Movement and Making Waves: A group exhibition by Lucrezia Bieler, Jennifer McCurdy, Robert Donne and Katie Glusica. All three exhibitions run through August 6th, 2017.
