Statement

Every single movement, every action, and every thought we experience in our personal environment is nothing more than a complex web of detailed negotiations within the mind, which enable infinite possibilities.

I choose to work with a host of industrial materials such as found metal objects, translucent resin castings, and glass, which are integrated into surfaces with natural elements, such as indigenous rocks and plant-life clippings. These items are then embedded into stained and painted concrete surfaces and constructed into light boxes to illuminate various features.

It is the process of incorporating these selected visual elements into the physical composition that becomes that moment, that action, and that thought process where all infinite possibilities are filtered and details negotiated with the mind in order to create physical reality. For me, this process represents the element of adaptation that we all experience within our mental and physical environments.

Biography

From a very young age, art has always been an important process for Christine. Raised in Virginia Beach, VA, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University and Old Dominion University where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001. Immediately after graduating she traveled across country and relocated in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a life in the arts.

She is currently represented by the Paulina Miller Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona. Many of her works are in private collections throughout Virginia, New York, New Mexico, and Arizona. Her work has also been published on book covers and in various local publications. She currently works out of her studio located in the downtown warehouse district of Phoenix, Arizona.

For Christine, all of her works are the result of the continuous search to create and express an ongoing dialogue of visual elements that explore ideas related to human behavior and adaptation.
